Even the best large screen system is only as good as the software you use to control it. Based on this principle eyevis has developed the control software eyecon. eyecon is unchallenged at the top of its kind. It guarantees trouble -free installation, easy and comfortable use in combination with numerous features and other outstanding advantages. In many security-relevant applications, such as control rooms and observation centres, our customers swear on it. eyecon is a cross -platform, network based and intelligent software solution for the control, administration and organisation of large screen displays and the connected systems.

Technology
eyecon is a real client server solution, based on a mySQL-data base. All relevant data for the administration and control of the large screen display and the related processes are stored at a central data bank. This allows an easy and quick installation of already existing customer systems. The eyecon Control Server controls the data bank and provides the features and the data for the control to the network. The visualisation of the complete data is performed by a netpix controller from eyevis.

Compatibility
eyecon works platform-crossing and is compatible with all common DCS-, SCADA-, process control and operating systems like Windows, UNIX and LINUX. In many tests and field researches and in many existing installations we were able to prove its high-quality performance and to show that there is no comparable system available on the market at present.

Capture
The eyecon capture function was developed for the visualisation of the desktop contents of all connected work stations on the large screen display. Its intelligent performance enables the joint administration and display of an endless number of clients via LAN, even if they are using different operating systems – simply with mouse and keyboard. With special eStreamer-boxes it is possible to connect additional computers without installing software on them, to guarantee for acomplete safety backup.
Alarm Management
In the past, it used to be rather difficult to visualise alarm messages on a large screen wall, because the integration of various alarm-giving devices, applications and complex management systems were connected with many unsolved problems. Often it was necessary to buy expensive software licences and to estimate high costs for the integration. To get across these problems, we invented the eyecon alarm management to achieve an easy implementation and visualisation of these alarms.
eyecon Alarm Supervisor
Incoming alarms and messages from super-ordinate systems are processed by the eyecon Alarm Supervisor service and are linked with predefined actions.
Survey on the Alarm Inputs
TCP/IP Socket: Messages and alarms can be sent directly via network from the customer system to a predefined port of the ECS server.
SNMP: SNMP traps can be received directly by the trap receiver of the eyecon software.
SMS: SMS Messages from GSM services can be received through the integrated GSM hardware module.
Colour Detection for eyecon Capture and eStreamer:
The eyecon capture technology enables every integrated client computer to detect changes in colour on its desktop and to initialise an internal alarm. If certain areas in an application are displayed red, an alarm gets started, for example. Colours and positions of these areas can be defined freely.
Serial Inputs (RS232):
Systems which send their alarm messages only via serial interfaces can be received through the serial COM-interfaces on the ECS.
Analog Sound Inputs:
For the reception of up to eight different alarm sounds played by computers for audio devices.
Digital and analog Switching Inputs and Relays Contacts:
Reception of digital alarm switching contacts.
Visualisation of Alarms:
Several actions (macros) can be freely defined if alarms are detected by the eyecon alarm supervisor service. This provides a large number of visualisation possibilities on the large screen display and on the operator workstations for incoming alarm messages:
- start of especially predefined presets on the large screen wall
- change of the preset on the large screen display
- add-on of individual windows on the large screen display
- display of messages on the large screen display
- window frames can be changed in colour or displayed blinking
- start of applications
- sending of alarm messages to other systems
- play of audio files
Security
eyecon is designed according to the highest security demands. It is possible to assign certain rights, functions and areas on the large screen wall to each operator. A special internal safeguard protects the system from attacks from the LAN/WAN.
Redundancy
eyecon guarantees highest failure security since it offers the possibility to create a redundant system.
You as a customer will profit of the many advantages eyecon offers. It is possible to control, administrate and display any source everywhere in the network (LAN/WAN) nearly in real-time. Even external signal sources such as RGB and video can be comfortably administrated and displayed with the software.
Since the system is completely based on a network and data bank structure, it offers divers features to create a perfect environment, e.g. for a control room. For example, the wall management enables the simultaneous start, the dynamic administration and display of all signal sources on a large screen wall. Further large screen displays and workstations can be administrated and controlled independent from the location. An unlimited number of different large screen walls and individual displays can be combined and centrally controlled.
A WAN connection provides a global management to the eyecon system. This includes the possibility of remote control and remote diagnosis of the whole system for an efficient alarm management.

Modularity
The eyecon software has a modular design. This enables the customer to choose only the modules he really needs. Besides this, the system is designed in a way that allows an easy integration and development of more specific customised demands.
eyecon is available in two versions, the basic and the premium version. Both versions can be individualized and up-graded with various optional modules, features or special demands.
Evolution

WallSetup:
Easy to understand and intuitive GUI for the configuration of your large screen system.
Operator Administration:
Rights and areas of the large screen display can be assigned to certain users and operators. These accounts assigned by the administrator are password and login-protected and prevent faulty and unauthorised use of your system, since the users can only apply assigned actions.
Install:
Installation over standard Windows installer/wizard in easy, small and quick steps. Automatic detection of already installed sources.
Cube Control:
Calibration and setting of the large screen wall
Video/RGB/DVI control
For the control of the video/RGB/DVI signals. Sources can be freely placed and scaled.
LAN Remote:
Wall desktop can be controlled from the operator workstations.
DesktopManagement:
Computer images are scaled (if the relevant application allows doing so) and placed. The desktop is administrated; applications can be installed and started by drag & drop.
WindowManager:
Frames of windows, e.g. video signals, on the large screen display can be changed in colour and individually labelled.
eyecon Remote:
API interface for the control of the complete system, external applications or for media control (e.g. AMX or Crestron).
Event Scheduler:
Presets can be set and started at any specified time.
Presets:
Storage for information about which image (window) is displayed where and in which size on the large screen wall. Saved presets (Layouts) can be started by mouse click, key stroke or drag & drop.
There is also a preview function for the saved presets.
MultiUser5:
Up to five users can operate the large screen system simultaneously.
MultiUser unlimited:
An unlimited number of clients can work with the system.
ClientCapture:
An application (driver) is installed on the client computers in the network. This allows to display the computers via LAN on the large screen wall and to control them by mouse or keyboard on the wall, even if they are using different operating systems, e.g. UNIX, LINUX, WINDOWS NT/2000/XP. In addition to that, not the whole content of the computer display has to be transmitted; it is also possible to transmit only certain important parts of an image (frame cut). As soon as the driver is installed, the eyecon system will detect the new capture source. It will add the signal to the source list and provides immediate use of the signal on the large screen wall.
Alarm Management:
Alarms from LAN, via SNMP, ODBC, RS -232 or SMS are automatically detected and processed. I.e. it is possible to define an automatic start of an alarm-preset in case of an incoming alarm signal. The alarm management possibilities are very versatile; please ask for more detailed information.
Web Interface:
Possibility to control the software over web interface.
Wall/Client Preview:
The content of the large screen wall or of the client workstations is displayed on every operator/administrator workstation in the network.
MultipleWalls:
Multiple display walls can be controlled simultaneously.
Shortcut Manager:
For the control of the system or certain functions (e.g. presets), with the keyboard (F-keys) of the operator workstation.
exDevice:
For the control of external devices, such as cameras, DVD players etc., for example with the RS -232 interface.
eyecon KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse):
Software-based remote control of the workstations with a local keyboard and mouse. KVM over IP.
EC Input Control:
For the control of the RGB, DVI and video inputs of the eyevis EC cubes.
SystemDiagnostic:
Display, administration and logging of all system-controlling components (netpix, ECS, EC-Cubes, eyecon).
eStreamer:
Transmits the KVM- signals (Keyboard, Video and Mouse signals) via IP. This makes the installation of the ClientCapture agents on the target computer dispensable. Particularly, this is an advantage if sensitive servers are displayed or if it is necessary to administrate down to bios level from a distance via LAN/WAN. The video signals can be transmitted either as RGB or as DVI with an image resolution up to 1600x1200 pixels.
eyecon X-Server:
If you want to install a UNIX or LINUX application directly on the netpix you will need this software.
eyecon Recorder:
All changes on the display wall and on the workstations connected via ClientCapture can be recorded.Computer images (no video images) are saved
on the netpix or the ECS. It is not necessary to record the whole display content. In order to save disk space it is possible to concentrate the storage on certain applications.
Redundancy Module:
This module creates a redundant system, to guarantee a continuous operation of the large screen system in case of failures. Netpix, ECS and networks get doubled. The cubes are equipped with an additional DVI input. In case of failure the redundancy module automatically switches to the second system.
SMS Module:
This module is only available in combination with the alarm management module. It offers a remote control possibility via GSM service. In addition to that, it enables receiving messages from the large screen system via SMS. It is also possible to send certain messages to the large screen system via SMS.
eyecon is available in three versions, LITE, BASIC and PREMIUM. The BASIC and PREMIUM versions can be individualized and up-graded with various optional modules, features or special demands.
